The challenge
St. Aldric needed 24 monitored beds open before winter, with central monitoring, HL7 feeds and drug libraries in place. Their biomed team was already stretched.
What we did
We specified the unit with their nursing and pharmacy leads, staged every device in our Boston hub and installed room by room over two weekends.
The result
The unit opened on schedule with every device on the asset register, alarm profiles agreed and a signed acceptance report for each room.
Scope delivered
212 devices across 24 beds: bedside and central monitoring, ICU ventilators, large-volume and syringe pumps, beds, mattresses and patient lifts, plus consumables for the first 90 days.
What changed for staff
Nurses started on a unit where every device was configured, labeled and on the asset register. Alarm profiles had been agreed in advance and super-users were trained a week before opening.
What’s next
St. Aldric has since moved its main ICU to a Verity service plan, with four-hour response on critical devices and quarterly fleet reviews.
We gave Verity a floor plan and a date. They gave us a working unit and a binder our auditors loved.
