Buying guide
How to choose a medical equipment supplier.
What procurement and clinical engineering teams should ask before they sign, and how Verity answers each question.
Authorized channels, not grey market
A supplier should be able to show a current distribution agreement for every manufacturer it sells. Devices bought outside authorized channels can lose their warranty, miss firmware updates and arrive without the documentation your auditors expect.
Verity sources only through authorized channels and passes manufacturer warranties to you in full. Every device is traceable from the factory to the room it is installed in.
Total cost of ownership, not unit price
The purchase price of most clinical equipment is less than half of what it costs over its life. Consumables, service contracts, batteries, software licences and downtime make up the rest.
Our quotes show five-year cost of ownership line by line, so you can compare models on what they really cost and defend the decision to finance and clinical leadership.
Inspection before delivery
Devices that fail on arrival cost clinical time and delay go-live. Ask whether the supplier inspects equipment before it ships, and whether it records serial numbers, firmware versions and electrical safety results.
Every unit we supply passes incoming QA in an ISO 13485 hub: serial and UDI captured, firmware updated, presets loaded and IEC 62353 safety tests recorded before dispatch.
Installation, training and acceptance
A device is not ready because it has been delivered. It is ready when it is installed, connected, configured to your protocols and your staff know how to use it.
Our biomedical engineers install every device, test network and HL7 connections, train super-users and leave a signed acceptance report for each room.
Service for the life of the device
Planned maintenance that slips, loaners that never arrive and repairs that take weeks are where most equipment programs fail. Agree response times in writing before you buy.
Verity service plans set response times by criticality, from four hours for life-support equipment to five days for routine devices, with loaners held in regional hub stock.
